Croque-Monsieur with Flamingo Turkey and Grilled Vegetables

Ingredients

3 packs Flamingo Shaved Oven Roasted Turkey 380 g
8 slices country bread 360 g
3 1/2 cups Cheddar cheese, grated 260 g
1 yellow or red sweet peppers 200 g
1 zucchini 130 g
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 30 mL
6 leaves fresh basil 3 g
4 sprigs fresh thyme 2 g
1 pinch salt [optional]
ground pepper to taste [optional]

Method

  1. Preheat oven to broil.
  2. Cut the vegetables in slices and mix in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Spread the vegetables on a baking sheet cover with foiled paper, oiled. Cook under the grill at broil for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Cut the country bread in 2 cm slices and brush with olive oil both sides. Spread on baking sheet and toast in the oven to make them crispy on one side. Turn the bread slices, then add cheese and grill to melt cheese.
  5. Add shaved turkey and grilled vegetables. Cook in oven 1 minute.
  6. Sprinkle freshly chopped herbs.

Observations

Astuces:

  • It’s summer time? Use the BBQ to make this recipe. To cook the vegetables, grill them on BBQ first and then cut them in slices.
