Is the Price Right? Grocery Price Checker Now Available for Free

Idea Origin

The Radio Canada show L’Épicerie came to meet us at our offices to record its report of March 9th (in French) on the price fluctuations of fruits and vegetables in different shops. It’s at that point that the presenter Denis Gagné gave us the idea of making a reliable tool that would help consumers know whether they’re making a good purchase or not. This was in line with the questions raised in the report Why is the the price of the same veggie varying so much from our supermarket to the next one? Who’s responsible? The supermarket chain? The weather? The weak Canadian dollar? Is one banner always cheaper than the other?

We instantly accepted Denis’s challenge and prepared this tool in time for the show’s release. In passing, it was the 6th time the show L’Épicerie spoke about us and appealed to our expertise on questions of grocery pricing. This proves that you too can trust our figures! And it is certainly worth it, because a family of 3 can easily save over $1,000 a year by favoring REAL deals.
