À l’heure actuelle, aucune alimentation n’est reconnue comme traitement officiel de la fibromyalgie. Toutefois, certaines approches nutritionnelles semblent prometteuses.
La diète faible en FODMAP peut être pertinente chez les personnes atteintes de fibromyalgie qui présentent également des symptômes de syndrome de l’intestin irritable. De son côté, l’alimentation méditerranéenne apparaît comme une piste intéressante pour améliorer certains symptômes et la qualité de vie, bien que les données demeurent préliminaires.
Dans tous les cas, l’objectif devrait être d’adopter une alimentation équilibrée, agréable à long terme et adaptée aux besoins de chaque personne plutôt que de multiplier les restrictions alimentaires sans fondement scientifique solide.
